　　据南昌留学云介绍，皇家中央演讲和戏剧学院由Elsie Fogerty创建于1906年。

　　到1961年，学院已经分有三个不同的系别。舞台系一直都为演员提供为期三年的课程同时也为舞台经理提供为期两年的课程。教师培训系的学生毕业后会获得教师资格认可证还有伦敦大学戏剧艺术专业的学位证书。

　　2004年枢密院授予中央演讲和戏剧学院颁发授课式课程毕业证书的权利。从2005年开始，中央演讲和戏剧学院一直是伦敦大学的组成学院。

　　中央演讲和戏剧学院提供的课程多种多样，包括表演、制作、舞台设计、导演、剧场应用及教育、戏剧和运动疗法、灯光设计和制作、媒体和戏剧教育等。
